About

img_9952-copy-1-30I am in my 28th year on the air at WDEN (where does time go?) and love my job.  I’ve had some awesome experiences like riding an elephant, flying with a parachute team at the air show and circling Atlanta Motor Speedway with Tony Stewart.  We went so fast I almost pee’d my pants.   I’ve been fortunate to have met some international celebrities and lots of local celebrities.  It’s very cool to meet folks who start their day with me and Vance and share a love of country music.  Thanks for turning us on each day and stopping by to see us when we are on location! You can listen live from anywhere in the world at wden.com

I am often asked, “How do you work with that crazy guy every morning?” Well, look at him. Not a bad way to start every work day. Plus, he’s got the greatest personality and a laugh that infects everyone who hears it. I can’t stay mad at him. Anyway, he’s looking for a little side work. If you need a model for a magazine spread, TV ad, whatever…he can be had. I still need him to come to the radio station every day so…don’t offer him too much money or a career in New York. (Unless there’s enough money for both of us!) Too bad he can’t sing. He just looks like a star.

My Bio (His just reads, “Looks good and stirs up trouble!”)

Laura Starling began her broadcasting career in Athens, Georgia. Right away Laura displayed a natural ability as a broadcast talent and performer. In no time, her radio career took off and she was on the air in Atlanta – a top 10 radio major market. But soon after, Laura opted to focus full-time on getting her degree. She moved back to her family home-base of Macon, Georgia where she graduated from Wesleyan College and began working on the staff of Middle Georgia’s 100,000 watt radio giant WDEN. After 28 years, she’s still on the air there and consistently polls as one of the all-time top celebrities in the Middle Georgia market. In addition to radio spots and promos, Laura has voiced tracks for many clients including AT&T, Atlanta Motor Speedway and The Georgia Music Hall of Fame. She has won awards for audio production including ADDY awards for best radio spots and was named Radio Personality of the Year by the Central Georgia Advertising Federation, a member of the American Advertising Federation. Two years running, she has been named (along with her morning show co-host, Vance Shepherd) Best Radio Personality in macon.com’s Best Of The Best. Laura’s down-home charm and radiant charisma have made her a favorite hostess for parties, events, ceremonies, pageants, weddings and much more for many years. Laura is available for voice-overs, public speaking engagements and as emcee for special events.
